Enjoy the Lord
I know that when people talk about Dad jokes they're talking about jokes that aren't actually funny. But let me tell you this, I'm actually a funny dad. You can just ask my kids; I have a 5-year-old, a 3-year-old, and a 1 year old. I'm pretty sure all of them would genuinely tell you that I'm the funniest Dad there is, well at least the 1 year old will when he can talk. It gives me great joy to be a funny Dad, I love making my kids laugh. They laugh when I tell them they are CORN-fused, they roll with laughter when I make fart noises, they like the highbrow stuff.


Have you ever thought about why it brings so much joy to make your kids laugh? It's because when they're laughing at your jokes, puns or funny noises, they are enjoying you. Think about the afternoon on Christmas Day when your kids are enjoying the present you got them. Is there anything sweeter than watching your kids enjoy a present you gave them? Nothing makes me happier as a dad to see my kids enjoying the gifts that I gave them because it means they're enjoying my goodness.

That is perhaps the best advice I have ever received. Today if you think of what you might do to be obedient to the Lord, try this: enjoy Him. Enjoy his good gifts, have a belly laugh at a joke (after all He created humor). Enjoy the people He created, enjoy the world He designed, and enjoy being His most special creation of all, you.
